Good Morning America host Robin Roberts interviewed First Lady Michelle Obama at Ft. Bragg, N.C. for an interview that aired on ABC’s morning gabfest on Friday.

Speaking out on the plight many military families face, Mrs. Obama said, “It’s not right.”

“It hurts. It hurts,” the First Lady said in regard to military families having to live on public assistance. “These are people who are willing to send their loved ones off to, perhaps, give their lives — the ultimate sacrifice. But yet, they’re living back at home on food stamps. It’s not right, and it’s not where we should be as a nation.”

“I think that’s one of my jobs, is to try and shed some light on some of these issues….”
