Always a class act, Michelle Obama urged the media to lay off Sarah Palin’s knocked-up teen daughter, Bristol, during an interview scheduled to air on the sixth season premiere of The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday.

“This shouldn’t be an issue for political discussion,” told the newlywed Ellen, who is a former Hillary Clinton supporter.

“[What he said is] one of the reasons why I’m proud of my husband and I love him,” said the wife of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

“He’s been very protective of our kids through this process, and his view is that, ‘What’s good for my kids is good for everybody’s kids,’ and I completely agree with him. I know that [the Palins] care about their kids, and we should let them deal with this issue.”

So are Barack and Michelle thinking of adding another child to their family, which also includes daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7?

“I think I’m done. I think our third child is this campaign.”
