For those of us who aren’t following the Summer Olympics like clockwork, champion swimmer Michael Phelps became the athlete with the most wins in the in the history of the Olympic Games after capturing his 5th gold medal in Beijing on Tuesday. Phelps, who turned in a six-gold performance at the 2004 Games in Athens, now has a collection of eleven gold medals total.

And he’s not done yet.

The 23-year-old Baltimore native is just over halfway to his goal of breaking Mark Spitz’s record seven medals in a single Olympics.
