In his first interview since a photo surfaced showing him smoking marijuana from a pipe at a college party last November, 14-time Olympic medal-winning swimmer Michael Phelps says he is contemplating whether or not he will compete in the 2012 Games due to his shame over the public scandal.

“It’s definitely not what I wanted, and it’s clearly not what my mom wanted,” the Charm City native says of the now infamous bong pic.
