Let me understand this. You have no photos of the two of them together. Neither one has said they are dating each other. No one has seen them together. They both are currently in other relationships. But her grandmother says they went to a baseball game last year and somehow they are boyfriend/girlfriend. That’s some great reporting.

Come on. This is ridiculous. Are we really that shallow of a society that someone cannot voice their opinion without being told that they were wrong. Why is her opinion wrong and others are right? If they don’t want a truthful answer, ask something stupid about World Peace and be done with it. Are we not all about “Transparency” in this day and age. Do we want truth or do we want people to say only what we want to hear? I am absolutely proud of her. I feel the exact same way, but I have family and friends who are gay. I love them for who they are even if I don’t agree with their lives. Just because someone does not agree with you, does not mean that they dont love you, let alone hate you.

pubdef666, it would be refreshing if someone like, I don’t know, Perez Hilton had an understanding of reality like you do. Unfortunately, too many time we associate the gay agenda with agitators like him. Miss California just stated what most people, even some gays, believe. Marriage is more than a social contract. It is a permanent, spiritual joining of a man and a woman, ordained in Holy Scripture. Most of us believe God created it and it is not up to us to change the rules.

As to Miss California going out to dinner with Michael Phelps, big deal. Christians are real people, too. Sometimes women have friends who are men. He’s famous and from what I understand, entertaining to be around in a private setting. Until they’re caught sunbathing in the nude together in Martinique, let’s give them the benefit of the doubt, okay?

I am a proponent of gay marriage, but I am very confused how anyone could have been offended by her comment. I have read and re-read her answer to the question and nowhere does she “condemn” gay marriage.

She was asked for an opinion. She offered an opinion. I think her view is wrong, but she is entitled to her opinion.

It is a sad commentary on our society if we are offended merely because someone has a different belief than we have.
