Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore is threatening to boycott Connecticut if the state does not recall Senator Joe Lieberman.
“People of Connecticut: What have u done 2 this country? We hold u responsible. Start recall of Lieberman 2day or we’ll boycott your state,” the Oscar-winning Bowling For Columbine director wrote on his Twitter page Wednesday.
Lieberman vowed to vote against the health care reform bill this week, unless the public option and the Medicare buy-in proposals — which would allow some people aged 55 to 64 to buy into the government-run seniors’ health care program — were removed from the measure. Democrats caved to ensure his vote. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid removed that compromise from the bill on Monday night.
Under Connecticut law and under The U.S. Constitution, a U.S. Senator cannot be recalled.
