Michael Lohan has cleared his–ahem–busy schedule to nurse his firstborn through her recent split with girlfriend Samantha Ronson. Lindsay Lohan’s always chatty dad wants to mend her broken heart and has set aside all commitments to fly to his estranged daughter’s side–if she’ll have him.

Lindsay’s going to need all the support she can get, especially since Samantha’s designer sister, Charlotte Ronson, and mom Ann Dexter-Jones are looking into getting a restraining order to keep the star away from Sam.

“Breakups are never pretty and they’re never easy. I’m here for Lindsay any time. I’ve cleared my schedule to go meet her in L.A. I hope Dina takes good care of her in the meantime.”

Michael has been an outspoken critic of his daughter’s same sex romance with the celebrity DJ.

“At a time like this she needs someone standing by her side,” his says, taking a dig at his ex-wife by adding, “It’s about time she had both parents with her, without Dina driving a wedge between us. It’s time for Lindsay to resurrect her life and career.”
