Celebrity advocacy rights group Stoparazzi is proposing the passing of “Michael Jackson’s Law,” a statue named after the late pop star that would regulate how physicians, practitioners, and dentists prescribe highly addictive medications.

The proposed law would create a national database which would track prescriptions of all controlled substances and medications. The group has already started a website, MichaelJacksonslaw.org, to help draw support for the cause.

“Michael Jackson’s Law will stop unsuspecting future addicts from falling into this death trap and help the millions currently hooked and headed for tragedy,” Stoparazzi president Terry Ahern said in a statement Monday. “This is a national disaster of epic proportions and getting worse by the day. As a country we desperately need such a database and as a society we are morally obligated to create and provide one. These cracks in the system must be fixed immediately.”
