Michael Jackson Tribute Tour To Replace “This Is It” Concerts?
Michael Jackson’s fans want that the late King of Pop’s sold-out This Is It Tour at the O2 arena to be replaced with tribute concerts.
Organizers at AEG Live, promoter of the London concerts, have been swamped with emails and calls from hundreds of the 750,000 ticket holders, demanding that a tribute be held in place of next month’s sold-out 50-date This Is It Tour.
A source at AEG claims the tribute to Jackson could take place in September, and will involve such stars as Madonna, Diana Ross, Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, and Stevie Wonder. Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, and Lily Allen have also been approached to headline a memorial concert.
“I really hope all the other artists come together for such an amazing show and help Michael finish his journey and send him off the way he would’ve wanted to be remembered,” The Daily Express quoted one MJ fan as saying.
“I also believe the fans who were meant to attend his concerts will finally say their goodbyes.”
