The City of Las Vegas will pay tribute to the King of Pop on his 51st birthday, The Las Vega Review-Journal has learned.

A Michael Jackson benefit concert will be held at The Pearl — located inside The Palms Hotel and Casino — next month, Jersey Boys actor Eric Bergen — who is co-producing the benefit — confirmed on Sunday.

Jackson died of a suspected cardiac arrest at his Los Angeles home on June 25. He was 50.

The August 29 tribute show will feature “cast members in current shows on the Strip to the big guys, along with some bands.” Other components to the show will be announced at a later date.

All proceeds will go to the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, with a focus on music education in Nevada public schools. A Twitter feed has been set up @VegasLovesMJ for fans who want to stay posted on the latest developments.
