M.I.A. Fashion Line “Extended Merch”

Conscious rapper M.I.A. has launched a fashion line inspired by her album covers.
The Extended Merch collection includes T-shirts, bodysuits and leggings which the singer designed them with model Okley Leslie.
The line features items influenced by her music and features patterns from the covers of albums Kala and Arular.
“I wanted to tie all my work together. When I make an album, I make a number of artworks that go with it, and now I make some clothes that go with it too. So this Okley run was an extension of my Kala album and artwork,” the rap star, who is seven months pregnant, tells The Fadar.
“The line exists to get the message across – whatever the aesthetic is that I’m trying to communicate. The Kala artwork and sound and clothes are all about being worldly, and representing the idea of the whole world being mashed up into one.”
