M.I.A. Baby Due Same Day As 2009 Grammy Awards
It’ll be a game-time decision for M.I.A. this February 8 – baby or the 2009 Grammys?
“[They’re] due the same day!” the musician wrote on her MySpace blog on Friday. “So either way I figured I’ll win.”
M.I.A., who is expecting her first child with fiance Benjamin Brewer, received a Grammy nomination for Record of the Year for her summer hit, “Paper Planes.”
The song, featured on the Sri Lanka singer’s 2007 album Kala, first caught a buzz after it was featured its Pineapple Express film trailer last June.

She’s the most original artist to come out in the last few years. Her lyrics and how she uses the English language with slang and dialect is genius.
And Paper Planes is not a mindless chant. It may be for many who don’t take a moment to listen or simply don’t understand.
