The Christian group Mercy Me was involved in a bus accident last night following their show in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Mercy Me’s tour bus hit a car, killing two passengers inside. The survivor is 35 weeks pregnant.
Witnesses reported that the accident was not the fault of the Mercy Me tour bus, but that a black car turned in front of them while Mercy Me’s bus was driving through a green light.
Mercy Me released this official statement:
MercyMe would like to express their incredible heartache over this horrible accident. They are praying for the families of all who this will affect, and are asking others to please pray as well. The band and crew sustained minor bumps and bruises, however their hearts are heavy. They appreciate the concern they have received from people all over the world.
Kara Klinker, the lone survivor from the car, is currently in the ICU, no word yet on the condition of her pregnancy.
Mercy Me’s concert tonight at Six Flags St. Louis has understandably been canceled.
