According to The Hollywood Reporter, following the success of The CW’s recent revival of Beverly Hills, 90210, the network and CBS Paramount TV are in serious discussions about launching a spinoff of another popular 1990s soap opera, Melrose Place.

The new show would debut during the 2009-2010 season, spokesman Paul Hewitt to the Associated Press on Tuesday.

The original Melrose Place aired on FOX from 1992 until 1999.
