Melissa Etheridge Proposition 8 Passing: “You Can Forget About My Taxes!”

No gay marriage means no tax dollars from Melissa Etheridge. The lesbian rocker is telling Uncle Sam to kiss her ass after 51% of citizens voted Yes on Proposition 8, a measure that will re-ban same-sex marriage in the state.
The married gay isn’t taking that lying down and has vowed that the State of California won’t get another red cent of her hard-earned cash until everyone has the right to wed.
Okay. So Prop 8 passed. Alright, I get it, Melissa wrote in entry on her Daily Beast blog Thursday. 51% of you think that I am a second class citizen. Alright then. So my wife, uh I mean, roommate? Girlfriend? Special lady friend? You are gonna have to help me here because I am not sure what to call her now. Anyways, she and I are not allowed the same right under the state constitution as any other citizen. Okay, so I am taking that to mean I do not have to pay my state taxes because I am not a full citizen. I mean that would just be wrong, to make someone pay taxes and not give them the same rights, sounds sort of like that taxation without representation thing from the history books…”
Have the gays seen the American divorce rate? If they want to be as miserable as a large percentage of the married people in this country, I say let them. Who are we to infringe on someone else’s right to misery? I Kid. I Kid.
Love is Love. Folks should be allowed to marry whoever they want; as long as we’re not talking about a distant cousin or something like that, because that would just be gross.

First, I don’t think citizenship is defined by marital status. Second, there are no levels or degrees of citizenship. You’re either a citizen or not a citizen.
Also, a portion of those taxes you don’t want to pay will go to Obama and our shiny new government. What are you, racist?

Ms. Etheridge seems to me just overtly upset. There are a lot of things that I want but can’t have. Do I have to make a show of it? No, cause that would annoy a lot of people.
Btw, mhnova, I agree with you.

hahahaha. So if I stop paying taxes am I a racist only for that? Gosh, that’s more sensitive that a baby skin. Gay rights is a tricky topic. I voted against, but centainly we high IQ people are few.
