The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputy who arrested Mel Gibson for DUI in July 2006, inadvertently becoming the target of the actor’s now infamous anti-Semitic rant, has sued the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, claiming he has been ostracized by the force since the incident.

On Monday, Deputy James Mee filed suit the department, claiming his superiors have discriminated against him on numerous occasions since Gibson’s arrest four years ago. According to a filing obtained by TMZ.com, Mee states that he was required to remove references anti-Semitic slurs uttered by the actor-director and has been repeatedly passed over for promotions in the agency because he is Jewish.

Mee has denied reports he was the source of the leak, which tipped media sources off to the news of the Gibson’s arrest and outburst. He claims, however, that he was unmercifully interrogated and received a negative job performance rating following the incident.
