RUMOR: Mel Gibson has talked Britney Spears into performing a gospel solo at his California-area Catholic church. The fifty-two year old actor/director has grown obsessed with helping Britney “rediscover God.”

“He is acting as a kind of mentor to help her rediscover God. He is thrilled that she has agreed to come to his church.”

Brit has reportedly already begun rehearsing a gospel medley that she will perform with backing singers during a performance at The Holy Family Catholic Church set for next month.

“They are working on arrangements and will agree on something in time for Britney singing at a Sunday service in late April….There is the possibility that she may even have a new song written for her for the occasion.”
