Meet Giuliana and Bill Rancic’s Baby Boy Edward
Life and Style Weekly got their Hot Little Hands on the first public photo of proud parents Giuliana and Bill Rancic and their infant son, Edward Duke Rancic.
Duke, as the tyke is called, was born via surrogate in Denver on Aug. 29. His arrival ended years of baby-making woes and subsequent heartbreak for his parents.
Giuliana, 38, appeared on The Today Show last year and revealed that she’d been diagnosed with breast cancer while seeking in-vitro fertilization (IVF), part of a lengthy journey toward parenthood with husband Bill. The star of the Style’s Network’s Giuliana and Bill disclosed that while undergoing another round of IVF treatment, in hopes of becoming pregnant a third time, she was given a mammogram that detected the cancer.
Rancic eventually underwent a double mastectomy. But today, with baby in tow, the beauty is singing a new tune.
An exuberant Giuliana told Life and Style:
“I had always heard that when you have a baby it completes your life — and it’s true. I love my baby and I love my new role…Edward is Bill’s late dad’s name and my dad’s name. It was a way to honor them. And Duke means leader.”
“[He's] got Giuliana’s dimples!” Bill added.
Giuliana is taking some time off from her entertainment reporting duties at E! to spend time bonding with Baby Duke. Fans will get their first glimpse at the new mom back in her element hosting E!’s Live From the Red Carpet Emmys coverage Sept. 23.
