Being one part of the Olsen twins. The twins became famous with the Full House, but their money ($17 million each) came from making a franchise of themselves. They starred in a number of straight-to-video releases and still flog clothes and cosmetics to teenage girls.

What went wrong?
There was the obvious eating disorder. Then Mary Kate Olsen and her frienemy swapped boyfriends for a while. Mary Kate was also hospitalized for kidney infection (but God knows what was wrong with her exactly as its either kidney infection, dehydration or pulmonary thingy when PR people are trying to cover something up). The recent scandal – Mary Kate was connected with premature death of Heath Ledger. The rumor has it the two have dated and when her masseuse found Ledger dead she called the Olsen twin 3 times before calling the ambulance. She has been out of the spotlight of late for some reason.
