Dancing With The Stars pro Julianne Hough joins fellow country songstresses LeAnn Rimes and Martina McBride on the cover of the July 2009 issue of Shape Magazine.
While the girls were supposed to be showing off their stunning bikini bodies and sharing secrets for staying slim, LeAnn used the opportunity to vent over recent reports alleging she engaged in an extramarital affair with her Northern Lights co-star Eddie Cibrian. Late last month, Eddie’s wife stepped forward and accused the once wholesome LeAnn — who is herself married — of “stalking” the dark-haired actor and his family.
“I’ve been in the tabloids recently too, and it’s been really hard for me,” LeAnn told Shape. “I’ve been in the public eye since I was 14, so I have a tough skin. It’s fine dragging me through the mud, but don’t drag my loved ones through it. They’re my family, and it hurts them. All I’ll say is, I know what’s in my heart and what’s true.”
LeAnn said she has been taken aback by how steadfastly the public holds to their faith in the tabloid media.
“What gets me is that people believe everything they read,” she said. “It’s the weirdest thing possible to go through…I feel like people are looking and pointing at me like I’m in a fishbowl. I’ve learned to let it roll off my back, but it’s superhard, and it really hurts.”
