Social media can be a popular tool for bringing old friends back together. We must admit, though, we never realized how useful it could be for reuniting folks with their lost wallets.

Mark Ruffalo experienced the power of Twitter over the weekend when a stranger who found the actor’s wallet in a Chicago taxicab contacted him about the lost item on the microblogging website. It took a couple of tries, but Ruffalo eventually replied with a gracious tweet:

The two continued the conversation through direct message and arranged a return of the wallet. Mark is now following his personal Good Samaritan on Twitter.
