Mark Ronson says wearing fur is like wearing your pet dog.

The music producer – perhaps best known across the pond for his work on Amy Winehouse’s award-winning 2007 album Back To Black – and his pet pup Maude have posed in a new anti-fur advertisement for animal rights group PETA beside the tagline “If You Wouldn’t Wear Your Dog, Please Don’t Wear Any Fur.”

“The only difference between our ‘best friends’ and animals killed for their fur is how we treat them. No one knows that better than a sharp dresser like Mark Ronson. With all the fashionable alternatives available, there’s absolutely no excuse for wearing fur,” says PETA Europe Director Robbie LeBlanc.

If wearing fur is like wearing your pet dog, eating meat is like eating your pet too? Come on! These days fur industry is a responsible industry with the Origin Assured label that assures us that fur comes from countries with strict regulations governing fur production. Fur animals are very well looked after, they are not kept in tiny cages anymore like many think. And if fur is farmed humanely, I really see no difference between that and farming animals for meat. That being said, I wonder if Mark is a vegetarian…
