The controversial shock rocker, once linked to the 1999 Columbine school shooting, has been officially diagnosed with the H1N1 virus. The virus is not believed to life-threatening and Manson is expected to make a speedy recovery, which prompted the star to crack a few joking about his diagnosis on his MySpace Celebrity Blog on Tuesday.

“So I have officially been diagnosed, by a real doctor, with THE SWINE FLU,” he wrote. “I know everyone will suggest that fucking a pig is how this disease was obtained. However, the doctor said my past choices in women have in no way contributed to me acquiring this mysterious sickness. Unfortunately, I am going to survive. M [sic]“

Manson isn’t the only celebrity to have been diagnosed with swine flu, which originated in Mexico. Last summer, actor Rupert Grint – who plays Ron Weasley in the hit wizard film franchise Harry Potter – contracted the highly contagious and potentially fatal disease.

How the hell was he "linked" to columbine? Just because the idiots were influenced by his music doesn't link him. The way you worded it makes it seem more intimate. In any other text, when you say linked, (especially when talking about crime), means that that person was directly involved.

the 'idiots' were both kids and victims too and they also died on that day… something a lot of people have forgotten. Also, they made a point about stressing how much they had a dislike for Manson and his music. Once the press got wind of his name it got way out of control and they took it out of context so they could sell news papers and magazines while boosting their ratings. It would be like saying 'the american way of life that was linked to the event of 9/11'. Really, if the press had any 'respect' for what happens during events like that, they wouldn't continuously run coverage on it 24/7.

The 'idiots' were those investigating the crime. Looking for any 'trigger' to what the boys did and why, it's easier to blame Manson and his music than to admit that schools today allow if not flat out promote bullying. If I ran a day care and one of my kids shoved another every day, threatened them , tormented them.. I would be held accoutable for an unsafe enivroment for kids.. but our schools get a free pass. They lay out zero tolerance rules that do nothing to actually STOP bullying. We can hold MM accountable for this crime but the 13 who was repeatably sexually assaulted by a schools athletic team and eventually committed suicide rather than go back to school… they are just brushed under the rug… they are just 'boys being boys' .. Bull shit!
