Marie Osmond denies that she is ashamed her daughter Jessica is a lesbian.

The ’70s teen idol has rubbished tabloid reports claiming her strict Mormon faith has prevented her from accepting her daughter’s sexuality.

“I love my daughter, she’s my baby girl… So what if she’s gay,” Osmond — an mother of eight tells GBLT-friendly publication The Advocate.

Marie has even encouraged Jessica, 21, to wed her lover of three years.

“You know, on those types of things I’m very supportive. When it comes to marriage, I think that civil rights need to be for all,” she added.

“I think it’s sad when we have to separate something from society… There are a lot of women out there who have gay children, who cares?” the 49-year-old said. “I want love. I’m a Christian and Christ was that way – he loved everybody.”
