Mariah Carey Shuts Down Kreiss Showrooms For $200,000 Shopping Spree
Mariah Carey isn’t letting the economic crisis put a kink in her spending sprees.
The notorious diva purchased more than $200,000 worth of chairs, sofas, and other furnishings at Kreiss Showrooms in Beverly Hills last week.
The singer and her entourage closed down the trendy spot on Melrose Avenue so Mariah and husband Nick Cannon could shop in peace with top interior designer Kenneth Bordewick, who is helping the couple decorate their new Los Angeles home.
“It was like a raid – the shop was closed down and her huge minders stood guard at the door,” says a WENN insider. “Mariah clearly knew what she wanted, but took her time making sure she got the right matches and designs. She has terrific taste.”

Hey, what the heck? Hubby’s got a new job now so they can furnish the crib in style! It sounds like Nick probably had a great time standing around waiting on Mariah to exercise her “taste”.
