Mariah Carey Grammy’s Snub
Mariah Carey has taken herself out of the running for the 2010 Grammy Awards.
The 39-year-old songbird will release her latest album, Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel ,on September 29, missing the Grammy cut off date by just one day.
At least one music industry insider tells The New York Daily News that Mariah is snubbing American music’s biggest night to avoid another major disappointment after winning only five awards out of 21 nominations since 1991.
“Mariah’s been shafted (let down) so many times before that it’s like a big ‘Kiss my butt’ to the Grammy folks. She doesn’t need the awards, because her career is already so successful.”
The 52nd Grammy Awards ceremony will air live from The Staples Center in Los Angeles on January 31.
