Maria Shriver Donates Cell Phone To Charity
Maria Shriver is donating her old cell phone to charity after the California First Lady was busted by TMZ photogs earlier this week yaking on her cell phone while driving — a move her husband, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, made illegal in the state last year.
“I’m sorry,” Shriver in a statement Thursday. “I will be donating my favorite old cell phone to my Women’s Conference partner Verizon through their HopeLine program that helps domestic violence shelters. I invite anyone else who wants to recycle their old phone to join me. That’s my version of swift action with a higher purpose.”
On Wednesday, Gov. Arnold sent a Twitter message to Harvey Levin, thanking the TMZ editor for dropping dime on Maria: “Thanks for bringing her violations to my attention. There’s going to be swift action.”
