Man Arrested In Hit & Run Death Of Alexis Cohen
Police have reportedly arrested a suspect in the hit & run death of an outspoken former American Idol contestant, who was killed over the weekend after she was struck by a car on the Jersey Shore.
According to The Ashbury Park Press, police in Seaside Heights, NJ have booked 23-year-old Daniel Bark, of Tom’s River, NJ, on charges of death by reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident in connection with the death of Alexis Cohen, 25.
Cohen, an aspiring stand-up comedienne from Allentown, PA who gained notoriety for her profane rants after appearing on Seasons 7 & 8 of Idol, was killed early Saturday after Bark’s 2005 Mitsubishi Gallant allegedly collided with her as she crossed the intersection of Bay Boulevard and Dupont Avenue in Seaside Heights. Cohen was transported to Community Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 6:30 AM.
An autopsy performed Saturday afternoon revealed injuries to the head, chest and abdominal areas
Daniel Bark’s bail was set at $35,000. He is being held at the Ocean County Jail and could receive a maximum of 15 years in prison if found guilty.
