Bravo, to Maggie. Breast feeding is so natural. I rather see a mother breast feeding her baby. Then, a women showing off, her breasts, for everyone to see. (They show more of their breasts, then mothers, breast feeding.)

I don’t get it. People tell mothers to cover up, while breast feeding. But, don’t the women or teenagers, to cover up. When, they are wearing bikini, low cut shirts, dresses & etc…

I’m not a mother. But, I support Breast feeding 100%

So, everyone is comfortable with all of these Hollywood actresses flashing their breasts and hoo ha’s for the world to see, it ends up on E! news, and people just get a good laugh, but the minute they see a baby attached to the boob, OMFG cover up!!!

For people who live in such a over-sexualized society, everyone gets pretty prude the minute they see a mom breastfeeding her baby.

As for comparing it to defecating or urinating in public….that doesn’t even dignify a response.

It’s great to see a star nursing her baby in public. I nursed everywhere, resturants, amusement parks and even in front of my grandfather. If I had tried to put a blanket over my baby’s head she would have ripped it off and thrown it. If you don’t want to see a baby nursing just don’t look.The only one who feels awkward is you. That’s your problem, not mine.

Carine, remind me not to ever accept a dinner invite from you, since you obviously cannot differentiate between FECAL MATTER and FOOD.

There are many things we dont “expect to see” when walking into a park.. but strangely, the normal, healthy way of feeding a child is the most looked down upon.

You don’t have to stare if you don’t want to.

You should cover up, because no one wants to see your boobies. And if they do, then your doing it will make it seem as though you’re looking for a chance to show them off. I won’t say starve your child, but at least have the decency to cover up for those who would find it offensive. It’s not good enough to say “look away” because I don’t walk into a park expecting to see things like this — I stumble upon it and then I’m in the middle of the awkward moment. Pooping is natural aswell, but I’m sure you don’t want to see people doing that in the park.

I still breastfeed my 8.5 month old in public… and rarely cover up. He would just take the “towel” off any how… It’s amazing to me that there are places that women can walk around topless and nothing is done or said but then a beautiful moment of nourishing your child is ridiculed! Breasts are not just for gawking at!

I’m with Maggie. To feed our children is natural. So we don’t have to be ashamed for do it, and do it in a public place is ok. Maybe it’s time to take off the towel of your eyes.
