Madonna Allowed To Adopt Mercy James On Appeal
Madonna has been given the go-ahead to adopt a four-year-old African orphan just two months after her initial application was denied.
Earlier this year, it was ruled Madonna – who already has biological children Lourdes, 12, and eight-year-old Rocco, as well as adopted three-year-old son David Bana from Malawi – could not take the child home because she had not lived in Malawi for the 18 months required under adoption laws.
Despite protest from the family of Malawian tot Mercy James, Madonna has won over the Malawi Supreme Court and a positive ruling will be announced next Sunday giving the “Borderline” singer permission to adopt four-year-old Mercy James, The Sun claims.
According to the tabloid, two out of the three court judges have submitted reports recommending the adoption.
“The paperwork is being typed up now, all recommendations are in favour of the adoption taking place. Mercy should start packing her bags. She’s off to America.”
