“Madonna Not Fit To Adopt My Daughter,” Says Mercy’s Dad
Uh-oh. Madonna’s bid to adopt a second African orphan has hit a bump in the road — ie: the girl’s father.
This Monday, May 4, Madonna will receive a hearing on her appeal of a Malawian judge’s decision to deny her request to adopt three-year-old Mercy James earlier this month. But Madge’s adoption hopes could be further dashed by a man claiming to be the girl’s biological father, who has stepped forward to protest the potential adoption.
James Kambewa, 24, says he wants to spare his daughter a life of “scandal” with a woman he believes lacks “good morals.”
James has never met his daughter after walking out on her late teen mother when she was pregnant. Nonetheless, the security guard has written a letter to lawyers asking for a permanent injunction against Madonna adopting her.
James, who has never actually met Madonna, slammed the star’s “poor morals”, saying, “Madonna has millions, but that doesn’t make her a good mum. She doesn’t portray good morals. How can a woman of 50 dance almost naked on stage?”
He tells Britain’s Daily Mail: “I also heard after her marriage failed she is already seeing two men, both very younger than her and her ex-husband. I hear one of them is even less than half her age. That’s scandalous. How can a normal woman fall for a boy who can as well be her son? No, spare my Mercy that scandal.”
