He gets tons of things/chances that millions of Cambodian kids couldnt even know or dare to dream about. A lot of kids can be geniuses if they were offered same things and chances, and esp LOVES. Nice for Maddox, but I feel bad for lots of kids that didnt get those kinda chances – not just in Cambodia tho.

Intelligence is often inherited.. and given that Maddox was bought by his ‘parents’, I’d say he got it from his natural parents.
