Grammy-nominated rapper M.I.A. has adopted a “Take No Prisoners” Attitude as she prepares to release her long-delayed third album, MAYA.
This week, the “Paper Planes” hitmaker unveiled the cover art for the new album, which creatively features the new mom’s eyes peeking out from behind a YouTube storm. Interestingly enough, it’s only been a month since M.I.A.’s gory short film, “Born Free,” was banned from the video-sharing website.
On Tuesday, the Sri Lankan spitfire released a scathing song on her webpage, the latest blow in a bitter feud with New York Times author Lynn Hirschberg after the paper published a tongue-in-cheek portrayal of the hip-hop star in its Sunday Magazine last week.
MAYA drops July 13.
