Little People, Big Problems: Reality TV’s Matt and Amy Roloff have hit the brakes on their 26 year marriage. The Roloffs now join Hulk and Linda, Nick and Jessica and Jon and Kate as the latest sudster stars to see their union implode in front of the cameras.
If their “parting” press release is any indication, however, Splitsville was a long time coming for the First Couple of TLC’s long-running docu-series Little People, Big World.
Amy told ABC News:
“Though we have weathered many storms together, we recently made the tough decision to engage in a trial separation. Matt remains living on the farm in our guesthouse and we work together everyday on the farm, on our business endeavors and most importantly, raising our amazing children.”
Matt and Amy actually made the decision to split late last year, when Matt opted to move out of the main house.
“What Matt and I failed to do over many, many years together was learn to live together. I am saddened by it. We don’t have a plan in how we are going to work this out so it’s not going to be easy.”
Meanwhile, Matt has summed up the situation this way:
“Amy and I stuck it out for years when maybe we shouldn’t have. I never quite felt at home in my own home. Something needed to change.”
The estranged couple have three children.
A new episode of Little People Big World, titled Trial Separation, airs March 25 on TLC.
