Just days after announcing his pending return to the music scene, Justin Timberlake has teamed up with Jay-Z on a new Timbaland-produced track called “Suit and Tie.” The tune, which hit the web early Monday, is the first new release from the singer-turned-actor since 2006.
The single finds the newlywed Timberlake hyping up his infamous wardrobe game. He croons: “I be on my suit and tie s*it/ Can I show you a few things, little baby?” Jay-Z chimes in with lines about wearing tuxedos for no reason and designs by Alexander Wang.
Timberlake co-wrote and co-produced “Suit and Tie” with Timbaland, who produced much of the singer’s Grammy-winning 2006 album FutureSex/LoveSounds. In an open letter to fans posted on his website, Mr. Jessica Biel revealed the title of his forthcoming new album: The 20/20 Experience. Timberlake said:
“What I came up with is something I couldn’t be more excited about! It is full of inspiration that I grew up listening to and some newfound muses that I’ve discovered along the way.”
Justin has spent the past several years cultivating his career as a full-fledged Hollywood thespian; he even appeared in the box office hit The Social Network. Timberlake called the sessions for the new album “probably the best time” he’s had in his career, “creating with no rules and/or end goal in mind and really enjoying the process.”
