The single is a disappointment. All the hype from RCA and Cook leading up to its release had one thinking it was gonna be something original – heck, in a recent Rolling Stone blurb, Cook even made comparisons to the material on this upcoming album to U2’s The Joshua Tree and The Beatles White album… such hubris is deserving of scorn after listening to what clearly is a Cornell laced throwaway… I would much rather have Cornell singing it – then we’d have an authentic release from an authentic rocker.

Hey, I read that Rolling Stone blurb. He was laughing at himself when he said it. He comes across as a pretty sensible and decent guy, especially in the 3 page spread Rolling Stone gave him last June. I hope he does well. And the song’s an earworm. Love it!

I love this debut single .It has that rock and roll edge without losing its sensitive message. David Cook has turned several “throwaways” into hits because of his voice and his personal style. Calling this a throwaway from Chris Cornell insults the likes of Neil Diamond whose two sleepers David Cook made into hits while on American Idol.

Ah….Telestar, you’re a bit of a dumbbell. I also saw the Rolling Stone video and the question that Cook was answering was “which records excite you as a listener” NOT which records do you compare your record to. For you to say he said his record compares to U2 and others is just a blatent misrepresentation of what he actually said.
You don’t have to like the guy, but making up idiotic crap just makes you look like a nitwit.
