Lisa Ling will return to the ABC morning talk show where she launched her career as a guest co-host for two days next month, ABC said Thursday.
Lisa is expected to join Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, and Sherri Shepherd as she sits in for new mom Elisabeth Hasselbeck on The View Oct. 5 and 6.
“I’m thrilled to be mixing it up with the women again. I’m hoping that some serious debate ensues,” said Lisa in a statement issued by The View this afternoon.
Lisa left The View in 2002 after three years as a regular to serve as a correspondent for The Oprah Winfrey Show and CNN. Lisa found herself at the center of her own headline-making horror story after her sister, reporter Laura Ling, was sentenced to 12 years “hard labor” in a North Korean prison earlier this year. Laura and her colleague Euna Lee were released and returned to the U.S. Aug. 5.
