Hold on to your hats, Goss Gawkers: Lindsay Lohan was arrested in her native New York early Thursday — this time after a fight in an upscale nightclub in the city’s Chelsea district.
The oft-incarcerated starlet was delighted to receive a warm welcome from fans of Justin Bieber and The Wanted at their concert in Madison Square Garden on Wednesday evening, but the night took a disastrous turn when Lindsay reportedly got into a verbal spat with a female clubgoer. Things eventually turned physical.
“Law enforcement tells us prior to the fight words were exchanged between Lindsay and the woman as they sat in separate booths near each other. Lindsay said something to the effect of, ‘Give me my space.’ Some time passed and then, for some reason, Lindsay allegedly punched the girl. We’re told by the time cops arrived Lindsay had left the club and was a passenger in a car that was leaving the area. Cops intercepted the car and made the arrest.
At the time of this post Lindsay is still at the police station.”
Formal assault charges could result in yet another probation violation for the Liz and Dick star. Lohan, 26, remains on informal probation for swiping a necklace from a California jewelry store in 2011. She is not required to check in with a judge or probation officer, but she could face jail time if re-arrested.
This is the third time in as many months that Lohan has had a complex run-in with police in New York. In October, she was accused of hitting a pedestrian with her Porsche and leaving the scene of the incident. Later that month, Lindsay was reportedly assaulted in a Big Apple hotel suite by a man she’d met at a local hotspot.
