Lindsay Lohan leave Los Angeles in her rearview and head home to Long Island later this week. The former child star is trying to clear her schedule so that she may visit with her paternal grandfather who is losing a battle with colon cancer in a New York hospital.

“He’s had colon cancer for a while and has been on chemo treatments,” Lindsay’s dad Michael Lohan says of his dad. “But now it looks like it’s spread to his lungs. He’s in really bad shape.”

“I’m hoping they can all come by to visit,” Michael says. “I’ve been there with him every day. But I know he really wants to see his grandchildren.”
