Lindsay Lohan Cleared in NYC DUI Case; Father Still Wants Conservatorship
Authorities in New York City have dropped hit and run charges against actress Lindsay Lohan, citing lack of evidence. The troubled starlet was taken into custody last month a pedestrian claimed LiLo clipped her with her luxury car.
But Lohan’s woes aren’t over yet; The pop tart’s sometimes estranged dad, Michael Lohan, is seeking a conservatorship for Lindsay. Why, you ask?
Well, he’s convinced she’s fallen into her old habits of alcohol and drug abuse.
So what else is new?
After staging a failed intervention for Lindsay last week, Michael Lohan is trying to go through the courts to get a conservator appointed to look after Lindsay and her affairs. Michael claims his daughter is hanging out with a wild crowd that includes her mother Dina Lohan.
Michael says he is not requesting that he be made conservator and he does not want to be in control of Lindsay’s finances.
TMZ claims Lindsay’s whole team was involved in the flopped intervention effort, including manager Evan Hainey, entertainment lawyer Dave Feldman and criminal defense lawyer Shawn Holley.
But Dina told Extra Friday:
“This sole act by my ex was not an intervention nor was this extreme antic sanctioned by any member of Lindsay’s family or her professional team of handlers. It’s all about her father obsessed with making a name for himself in the news once again. It’s sad and I hope he stops masquerading as her father in public and starts acting like one in private.”
