Lily Allen has reportedly been hired to pen the score for Bridget Jones’s Diary: The Musical when the hit comedy hits the live stage in 2011. The sassy hitmaker is said to be working behind-the-scenes as a songwriter for the upcoming stage show — based on the book and subsequent 2001 film, which starred Renee Zellweger.

We hear Allen has already composed one song and will be writing 11 more for the musical, due to open in London’s West End Theater District next year.

A source told The Sun Saturday: “It’s a huge deal and a huge job. Lily’s not on a roll yet as she’s only finished one but she has a lot of ideas.”

Last year, the “Smile” star announced that she was taking a break from recording and performing to concentrate on launching a designer clothing shop in England and setting up her own record company.
