Lily Allen Begs Fans To Buy “It’s Not Me, It’s You” Album (Blog)
Desperation doesn’t look good on you, Lily.
British singing star Lily Allen just heard that her long-awaited sophomore album, It’s Not Me, It’s You, may not sell enough copies to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart next week.
So the “Smile” hitmaker has come up with a very interesting way of getting fans to dig deep into their cash-strapped pockets and fork over their dollars in exchange for her LP–good old-fashioned begging.
Yep, you read that right. She’s begging.
“I’ve never had a number one album in England, never mind the US, and all of this is a bit crazy,” she wrote in an entry on her MySpace page Thursday.
“I could well be up for no 1 here (America), which makes me want to cry a bit . I’ve never begged you to buy from me ever, but I am now.”
She added, “This will be the only time ever in my life that this could happen for me.”
