Legal Stay Says Anna Nicole’s Body Will Stay Put

A Florida appeals court issued a stay Monday in the dispute over Anna Nicole Smith’s body, ruling that her remains cannot be moved to the Bahamas until the court hears a challenge from the former Playmate’s estranged mother, Virgie Arthur.
Arthur had filed a motion with Judge Larry Seidlin, asking him to reconsider Friday’s ruling which paved the way for Anna to be buried on the Bahamas. He denied that request. Arthur also filed an appeal with the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, which has now agreed to hear the challenge.
