King James is now on Twitter.
As his free agent status keeps fans atwitter, the NBA’s Most Valuable Player for the past two seasons can now be found on Twitter. On Tuesday, hoopster LeBron “LeBron-athon” James joined the glut of celebs using the polarizing world of social networking to connect with fans and friends by venturing to the web’s most popular microblogging website.
“Hello World, the Real King James is in the Building, ‘Finally,'” read James’ first Tweet on his new account, aptly-dubbed @KingJames.
Within seven hours, LeBron followers had swelled to more than 150,000.
In related news, James is planning to announce which team he’ll play for during a one-hour special on ESPN at 6 PM (PDT) Thursday, July 8, amid intense media speculation about whether James will remain with the Cleveland Cavs.
