Country star LeAnn Rimes is responding to Us Weekly’s report in which Brandi Glanville, the wife of her Northern Lights co-star turned lover Eddie Cibrian, claims that the award-winning country star is stalking her husband.

In March, a security camera appeared to have captured the actors holding hands and kissing during a dinner, and the two reportedly met for a “three-hour tryst” at the Malibu Beach Inn.

On Wednesday, Brandi confirms that her husband did indeed do the mattress mambo with Rimes during filming for the Lifetime Original Movie — but the model insists that it is LeAnn that simply won’t leave her man alone!

“LeAnn is a stalker,” Brandi told Us. “She refuses to leave us alone — it is shameful and scary. People are going to say it takes two to tango and I get that, but at some point LeAnn needs to stop asking him to dance.”

According to Brandi, Eddie has changed his phone number to end LeAnn’s “constant texting and calling–” to no avail. Glanville claims two weeks later Rimes sought out Cibrian at an L.A. Lakers game (May 17).

“LeAnn is so desperate for fame she has left her self-respect in the gutter and doesn’t care who she hurts to get what she wants,” Brandi remarks. “She’s hurting my family and messing with the wrong mom.”

Eddie and Brandi have been married since 2001 and have two sons.

LeAnn has been married to allegedly gay backup dancer Dean Sheremet, 28, for seven years. She has refused to confirm or deny the Cibrian affair rumors, but she’s got plenty to say about Brandi’s psycho stalker allegations.

“These comments are incredibly defamatory,” a spokesperson for Rimes tells PEOPLE. “While there are always two sides to every story, LeAnn continues to remain above the fray and chooses not to play this out in the press.”
