Lead vocal in the Fugees and her first solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. She won 8 Grammies and has 5 children with Bob Marley’s son.

What went wrong?

Although Lauryn Hill’s “Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” was a commercial success she withdrew from public life, she didn’t make appearances or did interviews. Lauryn Hill was also sued for not giving writing credits on her debut album, but the matter was settled out of court. She released her new material in 2002 and the MTV Unplugged album went platinum. She collaborated on a number of successful albums and went on a reunion tour with Fugees. However as one of the band members said it will not be happening again in the foreseeable future and hinted she is suffering from bipolar disorder. Her behavior became more and more erratic especially when she went on solo tour in 2007. Then again just take a look at her – who in the world would willingly dress up like that?

Ive personally seen Lauren perform at a concert in brooklyn. She was dressed in a similar manner. She arrived to the concert two hours late and her speech was a bit slurred and her voice was not the same at all. She was unable to hit high note sand she was singing a funk version of all her previous hits. Everyone came to see hip hop performance and we were unpleasantly surprised to hear the changes she made to the music. I am not one to judge but it was obvious that she had lost “something” since the release of her previous album .
