Lauren Graham — perhaps best remembered for her role of Lorelai Gilmore in the popular cult comedy Gilmore Girls — has been offered a role in the upcoming fourth installment of the acclaimed slasher series Scream.
The blogosphere is abuzz with still-unconfirmed chatter that the Parenthood star, 43, is up for a lead role in Scream 4 — alongside a bandwagon of actors such as Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courteney Cox, who will reprise the roles they’ve played in the Wes Craven-directed horror franchise since its introduction in 1996. The movie will also feature Young Hollywood stars Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Nico Tortorella, and Lake Bell.
GhoulsOnFilm writes: “A source close to the production tells me that Lauren Graham, known to many as Lorelai Gilmore, has signed on to the film. You didn’t know I have sources? Oh but I do! (Take THAT, Ausiello!)”
Details about the new installment of Scream are being kept under the wraps, but it has been revealed that the backdrop of the film will be several years from the point at which the last edition concluded -obviously.
Scream 4 slashes its way into theaters April 15, 2011.
