Lauren Conrad, star of the MTV reality series The Hills, has inked a three-book deal with publisher HarperCollins. LC, 22, is working on the first in a series of books based on her experiences in Hollywood that could potentially be developed as a film or TV project.

Lauren’s first book is scheduled to hit shelves next Summer.

“It’s definitely influenced by my own life,” Lauren says in an interview with PEOPLE Magazine. “The books are about a girl who moves to L.A. and stars in a reality show, so obviously there are some similarities.”

“I’m not trying to do a fictional story based on all my friends in my real life because their stories aren’t really mine to tell,” Lauren explains. “Some of the characters may symbolize people in my life, but it is in no way calling anyone out.”
