Jimmy Fallon’s first few appearances as the host of NBC’s Late Night have been critically panned. I’m not sure the criticism has been entirely fair. Jimmy’s a funny guy, but every show needs a little time to find its own voice. He’ll grow into it.

On a my upbeat note, we may have some good news for Jimmy. While the reviews may be mixed, but Late Night with Jimmy Fallon is a ratings winner. The show attracted an average of 2.4 million viewers the week last week, in comparision to CBS’ Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, which averaged just 1.9 million viewers.

The March 2 debut also beat ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live by 100,000 viewers during their overlapping half-hour.
