Lamar Odom Drug Abuse Rumors: Hoopster’s Alleged Crack Addiction Ruining Marriage to Khloe Kardashian
Infidelity and infertility are the least of the troubles plaguing Khloe Kardashian’s once storybook marriage to NBA star Lamar Odom, if word ’round the blogosphere is to be believed.
Kardashian reportedly staged an intervention for her husband last week, amid allegations that the Los Angeles Clippers hoopster, 33, has a serious drug problem. Khloe, 29, teamed up with several family members in a desperate bid to convince Lamar to seek help.
Snitching snoops TMZ.com that the former Los Angeles Lakers star has quietly struggled with an addiction “hardcore recreational drugs” — including crack cocaine –for two years. Lamar even checked into a San Diego rehabilitation center for three weeks in August 2012.
At the time, Khloe hired a private investigator to ensure he didn’t leave the facility. But, insiders say, she’ll have a tougher time get him to sneak help this time around. A RadarOnline tipster adds:
“Lamar has lost a ton of weight in the last few months which triggered a lot of the concern amongst the family. Lamar does not want to go to rehab because pre-season training camps are just around the corner. He just doesn’t care about anyone or anything right now. He has had it with the Kardashians and just wants to be left alone. Everyone is very, very, worried about him.”
Khloe and Lamar wed in 2009, following a red-hot romance that lasted just a few weeks. The drug abuse reports come on the heels of sordid tales from at least two women who sold their allegations of affairs with the athlete to the supermarket tabloids. Confessed mistress Jennifer Richardson claims she enjoyed a threesome with Odom.
Any divorce would likely cost Lamar dearly. The Odoms iron-clad prenup allegedly includes an anti-cheating clause. Lamar — who’s worth an estimated $56 million — would have to shell out $500,000 for each year of the marriage, as well as allowances for spousal support and shopping for Khloe, Life and Style Weekly dished this month.
Snoops close to the embattled couple say it’s a bit early to start talking a breakup:
“Khloe is more concerned about saving Lamar than ending her marriage.”
